Daily Outline:
Each day campers will rotate through three fun and rewarding stations – each taught by one of the senseis.
1. Life Ki-do Martial Arts – Whether the child has no martial arts experience or years of formal training, this station offers fun, age and skill level appropriate classes developing focus, confidence and martial skills. Includes kid favorite - Kung Fu Theater.
2. Team Building – Through fun team challenges and partnership drills, students learn important communication and cooperation skills.
3. Bully & Stranger Danger – Designed specifically for the self-empowerment of children - building confidence and self-esteem while teaching practical physical and emotional safety skills.
Movement Principles & Life Education:
As with all Life Ki-do programs, camps will be a unique blend of martial arts infused with universal life skills education.
Through games and activities, children learn movement principles such as Flexibility & Balance, Agility & Coordination, Strength & Endurance, Alignment & Spatial Awareness. This caliber of body awareness and coordination is a great foundation for all other sports and physical activity and children become what we like to call “movement artists.”
Camp activities are also a medium for discussing and practicing social values and tools such as Conflict Resolution, Self Expression, Teamwork, Leadership, Compromise, Physical & Emotional Safety Skills, Initiative, and Sportsmanship.
Ages:
Current martial arts students and new friends ages 5 to 13 are invited to participate. Beginners through advanced are welcome.
